Independent snow and weather reporting from the Zao region of Yamagata
New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 404cm
Posted on Saturday 4th March 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Zao Now report can be found here.
The day is starting off with very light snow falling and fog higher up. Quite thick and not easy to see.
It should begin to brighten up later and into the afternoon so it may be better to start low.
Temperatures are still low so the added snow yesterday still leaves the slopes in a not bad state post grooming. Softer and nicer higher up naturally. There is still frost on the trees higher up so nice views when riding the lifts.
There is some wind about so it will feel colder higher up.
Tomorrow is expected to be a sunny day.
