We're back to the clear skies this morning in Yuzawa. The sun is out and all is calm. The calm before a storm perhaps? Those snowy conditions for the weekend are still on the forecast, though it does seem to have been delayed slightly with things kicking off later on tomorrow rather than later today. We'll just have to wait.

There's not much to report this morning.... after a lovely day for the most part yesterday, it's more cloudy this morning. We might just see a spot of rain or sleet today but nothing major. The forecast for the weekend though is promising in terms of snow with decent amounts forecast to fall on the mountains and down to town level as well.

Yesterday was a beautiful day in the region but this morning the clouds are back and it's raining in town and actually feels fairly mild. Snow up at Kagura. Hopefully it won't last too long and soon be sleet and then snow, though the snow around town had pretty much all gone anyway so it's not really the rain doing the damage.

All change early on this morning in Yuzawa. Some cloud over Yuzawa still but just to the north in Minamiuonuma clear skies have started to open up after the snowfall of yesterday and the sun is shining down.

It's snowing here in Yuzawa this morning with a few cm of snow on the ground once again. If the forecast is correct we should be seeing snow fall for pretty much all of the day and hopefully into tomorrow so fingers crossed it might bring us a decent 'result'.

I have snow to report this morning. It was snowing for large parts of yesterday and while we are looking much whiter this morning there's not a huge amount on the ground in town to report. 5cm or so in places, and as you go north into Minamiuonuma any snow on the ground has already gone - for now of course.

Last night we got rained on and blown about by some pretty strong winds but this morning it has been trying to snow and indeed right now is snowing. It might still be wet snow, but it's snowing and the forecast is for that to last the day so hopefully we might be much whiter by the end of it.

The sun is out and it is a beautiful morning in the Yuzawa region. A lot of people have been up at Kagura enjoying the first weekend of the season. And a decent start to the season as well, I would say, with the main Kagura course, Technical course and Giant course have been open.

Morning from Yuzawa. Another dusting of snow overnight though with the last few days seeing the snow line move back up the mountain after that fall last week, we are still looking mid-season with autumn colours still on show on the lower mountains.

Snow in Yuzawa. Yes, this morning we have some snow down to town level in Yuzawa. Not a huge amount and you can still see the ground so a patchy thin layer but it has been snowing overnight and still some wet snow coming down this morning. Just to the north in Minamiuonuma it is raining and the forecast for Yuzawa is rain for the day as well and so the snow that we see now may well be washed away by the end of the day. But it's always good to be able to report that first
