The sun is out and it is a beautiful morning in the Yuzawa region.
A lot of people have been up at Kagura enjoying the first weekend of the season. And a decent start to the season as well, I would say, with the main Kagura course, Technical course and Giant course have been open. The resort says that they had up to 5cm or so of fresh snowfall overnight and now 70cm.
Looks like it will be raining tomorrow. Borderline rain or snow for higher elevations. After that, we should see some fairly bright and sunny conditions in the week... it's not looking much like there's good chances of decent snowfall just yet.
In the meantime, Kagura should satisfy any of those strong first slide urges! We're still a number of weeks off the planned openings of most of the resorts around town...
