It was falling fairly heavily at times during the day yesterday, ending up with 9cm of fresh snow measured at town level by 5pm.

After a day of snow falling for the most part there was just 2cm of snow measured early evening, but another nice thick layer of snow on the ground this morning.

It was raining heavily at times yesterday around base levels. A bit grim. Yuck. Not helpful to the snow.

Yesterday the snow kept on coming down. At times it was quite heavy with nice big flakes; at other times just light snow.

Excellent news again this morning.

Yesterday morning was a beauty. And from a quick look round the ski hills around town, things didn't look too busy - at least early on anyway.

After that extremely snowy last week of 2018, we start 2019 with some clear skies and sunshine. It is a lovely morning.

I might well have said this yesterday, so sorry if that is the case but - what an end to the year! This snow just doesn't seem to want to stop falling.

The snow has continued falling - pretty much consistently since my last report.

What a few days it has been.

The snow has arrived. Close on 50cm of fresh snow on the ground and probably more on the mountain.

Just a slight bit of snow overnight (after some rain, so rather wet), with Kagura reporting 3cm of fresh snowfall and Maiko reporting 10cm (presumably higher up).

It was raining last night but I'm glad to report that this morning it is snowing again with Kagura resort reporting 20cm of fresh snowfall and Maiko Snow Resort reporting 10cm of fresh.
