Today (Sunday 26th May) is the last day of the official ski and snowboard season at Kagura - and in the Yuzawa area as a whole.

It has been a pretty hot day out there in the sun and it is looking like the weekend is going to be hotter still.

I thought I would update you on the latest now that the nasty wind and rain has cleared.

Very warm day yesterday and as expected it is sunny and fine this morning too, but it is kind of windy.

From today, just the Kagura resort remains open - via the Mitsumata Ropeway. The Tashiro Ropeway is now closed, as is the GALA Yuzawa resort.

Today is starting off with sunshine, lots of blue sky and just some cloud.

There was a bit of sun in the morning yesterday in places but it remained mostly cloudy and relatively cold for the day with a few spots of rain in the evening when I was out.

It's Friday! Yesterday was very warm in the sunshine.

There was some rain yesterday but let's quickly forget that and be happy that it has been snowing again!

After the cold and snow (and wind in places) that everyone was surprised and talking about... there are blue skies this morning with just a little cloud around in places.

It really does feel like winter again at the moment. There's fresh snow on the roads and there is snow hanging on the trees. It's cold too.

It was cold yesterday and is again this morning.

Yesterday was a real surprise - especially as snow was falling pretty much through the day, so there will have been more cm added on the slopes.
