It has been good to see some snow sprinkling down the mountainside once again and the resort reported an impressive 15cm of new snowfall on the top Yamabiko runs this morning.

Lunchtime report on this rather warm day in Nozawa. So warm in fact that the resort has reporting a temperature of +17 degrees at the Hikage area, 12 degrees at Uenotaira and 10 degrees at Yamabiko.

Here we are in April already. Where did the season go?!

It's a bit warmer this morning in Nozawa and another cloudy morning but somewhat brighter than yesterday was.

It started as rain yesterday but was snowing later on and this morning the resort is reporting up to 10cm of snowfall on the upper slopes with just a few cm down on lower slopes and village areas.

Great news this morning. We have had a delivery of fresh powder overnight with 10cm at Yamabiko, 13cm at Uenotaira as of 10am.

It's a very windy one in Nozawa this morning. The strong winds mean that we have limited operations on the mountain this morning with mainly lower lifts and runs only open.

It's a mostly fine morning here in Nozawa Onsen today. We have some high altitude cirrus clouds passing overhead that tend to preceded frontal systems.

After the rain we got last night the precipitation turned to snow delivering 10cm of fresh up high, 3cm was recorded lower down in the village.

Winter has returned to Nozawa Onsen with a healthy overnight top up recorded. At the moment we have light to moderate flakes falling, very cold temperatures and windy conditions on the higher slopes.

Today will continue the trend of spring conditions we've had this last week. Up the top will be fast and icy early in the day, but will soften as the temperature warms by late morning.

We have had a light dusting of snow overnight in Nozawa Onsen; not much, just 1cm being reported by the resort up at Uenotaira (and 0cm in other areas).

We have had a further 10-20cm of fresh fall since last lifts yesterday and combine with yesterday's persistent moderate to heavy falls it will be certain that there will be some powder stashes about the resort today.

It looks like we have some fresh powder falling in Nozawa Onsen this morning.
