Did you see the images from the Kanto area last night with all that snow falling in Tokyo? It's amazing how just 5-10cm or so can cause so many problems.

After that clear start to the day yesterday, clouds did move in and...

Some more snow fell during the morning yesterday – by 12 noon the ski resort was reporting 1cm at Karasawa base, 6cm at Uenotaira and 13cm on the top Yamabiko area of the mountain.

And there's some very good news this morning with a lot of fresh snow to report.

I'm still a bit confused with what the weather is delivering at the moment.

Good morning from Nozawa, and nature is serving up some rather confusing weather conditions right now.

There has been no fresh snowfall overnight, but yesterday some more falling across the mountain with the resort itself reporting up to 6cm.

Interesting that we have got a nice new layer of snow overnight with snow still falling now.

More decent snow to add this morning, adding up the numbers from mid-afternoon to this morning we're looking at over 40cm on the upper areas of the resort.

Yesterday the Nagasaka Gondola was able to get moving soon after 10:30am, meaning all of the lifts were in action.

It's a mad busy one. Mostly due to what nature is delivering - which is snow and wind.

Some fresh snow on the ground this morning with up to 16cm of snow being reported by Nozawa up on the top runs since yesterday morning.
