Another day when it looked like we should be overwhelmed by snow, but a funny wind pattern between the Noto Peninsula and Sado Island caused a little counterclockwise circulation of wind.

Not as much snow as I was hoping in this new storm cycle, but a lot of wind out there.

The snow just keeps on coming, so it's powder on the slopes, with more lifts opening as well to get you up there.

After a little break in the snowfall yesterday — nice for settling the snow, and clearing clinging snow off power lines, equipment and such — the snow is back again to welcome the opening of most area resorts with some genuine powder.
