Yesterday’s strange weather resulted in a little more snow than the forecasted 10cm, so we have some nice soft stuff on top of a good solid base.

The snow kept on coming through the day yesterday - nice, big flakes. It just have done something to the resort’s collective brains, though; a lot don’t have new reports ready yet (at 8 am plus).

Another nice surprise this morning: when elderly dog needed an early morning excursion, she was met with a big drift of snow right outside the door.

Nice surprise this morning to wake up to a little fresh snow. Not a lot, but really light snow, and it keeps falling, so we keep hoping for more.

Beautiful, sparkly flakes on the surface of the snow this morning; we got about 4cm in total, but it was of real snowflakes.

There was a lot of snow falling yesterday, lots of wind and blowing.. the total wasn’t as dramatic as might have been expected, especially with drifts covering cars.

Not a lot of snow up to know, but that snow is coming down very nicely. Myoko style (and its been a while since we’ve seen this kind of good, solid snowfall).

One last day of making a highly educated guess here (the flu must not win!) but one aided with at least one ruler-augmented poke in the snow, if not in the formal snow plot.

Better than the Niigata Prefecture forecast of 2cm for the morning.

Suginohara are reporting up to 10cm of fresh snow in the places where there's the most, and Akakura are reporting 3cm of fluffy snow.

Yesterday was one of the most insane weather days I’ve seen.

Another sunny day, after some nice, if not particularly heavy snowfall through late afternoon and into the night.

It is really beautiful out there today, with an almost perfect blue sky to start out the day.

Talk about an underwhelming snowfall: maybe 70cm, the TV was saying.
