Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 1137cm

I didn’t get to go out and do my formal measure of the new snowfall (the flu still taking precedence), but got the team to give me an average at right around 10cm of new snow. Better than the Niigata Prefecture forecast of 2cm for the morning.
The wind has shifted around to the northwest offshore again, something we see more commonly when we get good snow. That follows some pretty strong winds through the night and into the morning; there could still be strong winds higher up - and this is likely be the reason for several lift closures at Lotte Arai.
