It has been an absolutely fantastic morning in Furano with bluebird until late morning and now high cloud moving over the tops.

It is a nice clear day today with sunshine so visibility is excellent.

Early morning there was low cloud covering the mountain but this soon lifted by the time the lifts started up and it has been a clear day with fantastic views.

It's been snowing moderately to heavy all morning, and we're stretching towards 10cm of new accumulation; a welcome surprise for those of you who were up and out there early this morning.

A few centimeters of fresh snow fell overnight, but on the whole it's been a quiet Saturday morning.

There was some light snow yesterday and overnight which has amounted to around 4cm.

While there is no new overnight snow to report today it looks like it will be another great day to be out carving some turns.

The only thing you need to know this morning is BLUEBIRD.

There was a dusting of about 2cm overnight and the day started with low cloud, very flat light and cold temperatures.

Sunday was a cracker of a day with 15cm of fresh snow at village level and even more at higher elevations.

Furano got slammed with 15-20cm+ of snow last night, quite the welcome sight to wake up to for those of you headed out on the mountain today.

We're off to a chilly start this morning. Clear skies and calm winds led to overnight lows around -24.

The weather is looking good for today so don't delay and get out there now.

Light snow started to fall yesterday evening and has continued through the night.
