Furano got slammed with 15-20cm+ of snow last night, quite the welcome sight to wake up to for those of you headed out on the mountain today. Things have quieted down to the occasional snow shower for now, but today is going to be a monster day out on the slopes. The ski resort has raised the official snow depth to 140cm, a nice jump from yesterday's 120cm.
Winds have shifted to the North, and a stiff breeze is blowing with stronger gusts at times. On the plus side, the sun is starting to come out, and it looks like it's going to turn out to be a really beautiful day. The weather is shaping up to be much better than yesterday's, especially with the milder temperatures, which are currently sitting at an easy to manage -7.
With all that fresh powder lying around, today is definitely going to be a good one.
