It is snowing lightly at the moment and 2cm of fresh snow on the ground.

Heavy snowfall to report from Zao this morning with a good 30cm on the ground.

I was just reading some of the other reports to see how they were doing... it looks like Japan is having a very nice early season.

Snow has been falling again. Down to village level here on Thursday with the first proper snow of the season.

Today is the last day of the ski season here in Zao and this is my last report of the 2016/2017 season.

The resort is still doing it's best to remain open and for now the courses available are the top Zangezaka Juhyogen, Chuo and Utopia courses.

More lifts are closed now, and a few more have their last day today, but it still feels cold and rather winter like.
