Welcome back to Zao Now

As announced yesterday, today (Friday 24th April) is the last day of the ski/snowboard season here in Zao.

There has been an announcement...

The official snow depth at Chuo (the open ski run) is actually unchanged since last Friday, and it continues to be open... just getting narrower!

Tomorrow might be cloudy with clearer weather currently expected again come Sunday and Monday.

It's a bright kind of morning even though there is a fair amount of cloud around.

A cloudy Friday morning with some light rain at times.

Up to around 5cm in places and perhaps more higher up yesterday.

The sun is out and we are set for a weekend of clear and sunny and warm conditions. It might warm up to over 10C at base this afternoon.

We got some fresh snow down to base!

The ski area this morning reporting another 10cm of fresh snow on the mountain and the trees up there looking nice and loaded.

Some light snowfall to report since the last report (the ski area is reporting up to 10cm in higher areas since yesterday) and snow is currently falling down to base.

Another big of fresh snow again with the ski area reporting 5cm on mountain.

A bit of snow this morning (the ski area itself is reporting 5cm) with it still snowing and some blowy winds, though lifts appears to be starting the day as planned...
