The rain yesterday morning thankfully did turn into snow as it got colder during the day, and by this morning there was around 10cm of snow around town areas, though roads were quickly cleared.

This morning we are starting with cloudy skies, and that's what most forecasts tell us to expect today.

We had snow falling through lots of the day again yesterday around town areas and just to the north, ending up with 11cm more to add to this report.

It kept on snowing for large parts of yesterday. By 6pm, there was 9cm of snowfall and this morning there is an additional 7cm.

There has been another 19cm since yesterday morning, with over half of that during the day yesterday.

By 6pm yesterday there was an additional 14cm of snowfall at our Yuzawa measuring point and this morning there's another 22cm.

Good news! Snow was falling yesterday, more or less at different times and it didn't really amount to that much in terms of new cm.

The snow continued during the day yesterday.

First up: Kagura (all areas) and GALA Yuzawa are closed today due to wind.

It was a really beautiful day yesterday. Ski areas were busy too - some more than others.

Last night we measured an additional 21cm of snowfall and this morning there is another 10cm, so that makes a total of 31cm since yesterday morning. Nice.

We have fresh snow.

There was some light snow yesterday morning but it didn't give us much more than a dusting in places around town (and some spots of rain in places too, but let's try to forget that!)

It was so great to wake up to that fresh snow yesterday. It felt like kind of a relief after a long and anxious wait.
