First up: Kagura (all areas) and GALA Yuzawa are closed today. Wind and weather are the reason. Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway is also not operating. There is also lift disruption at Maiko Snow Resort and Naeba, and possibly more.
Ski area closures due to weather aside, it's good news.
The snow was really falling very nicely (ie. heavily) at times yesterday and last night. We had 19cm of fresh snow at our measuring point by 6pm. At 8:30am this morning there is an additional 22cm, so a total of 41cm since yesterday morning. A similar amount just to the north in Ishiuchi.
Excellent (...even if it isn't quite as much as they told us to perhaps expect).
It is still snowing and it might continue through the day until tonight.
Sun is forecast for tomorrow, so conditions - snow, weather, scenery - should be top notch!
