5cm of snowfall to add this morning at base (here in Ichinose and that is what Kumanoyu are also reporting). It is a cold morning and the snow is nice and light.

A real wintery night and a decent amount of fresh snowfall has covered everywhere.

We have a nice frosted feeling going on this morning.

The snow clouds are back!

A bit more snow since last report but it's still thin on the ground.

Hello and welcome back to the Shiga Kogen Now reports.

After a warm/hot weekend with temperatures reaching around 20C even up here - and 30C+ down in the valleys - today is the last day of the ski season in Shiga Kogen.

Believe it or not, it has been snowing early morning! (Yes, today is 7th May!)

It feels like winter again. Snow is falling!

A bit more snow being reported by Kumanoyu (5cm) since yesterday but mostly it is just cloudy this morning. It was cold overnight and roads coming up to the area are icy.

Well, winter really isn't going quietly this season. More snow and cold.

And now after that surprising blast of winter (and some additional cm since my report yesterday), we are going to be back to spring.

It's like early February. Heavy snow.
