Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 554cm

Posted on Thursday 9th February 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

With the 3cm reported at Yamabiko yesterday early evening, the ski area has said there is 5-10cm around base areas and 22-26cm on upper areas since yesterday. That layer up top sounds nice and should give us a decent reset. We might get a bit more today and tomorrow - though not massive amounts expected.

It should be keeping colder than the last few days. Currently around -1.5C at base.

Clearer skies and mild temps are forecast for the weekend and then a return to snow and cold early week.
