We have received another decent amount of lovely snow since my last report.
I was not able to check the snowfall numbers that the ski area reported yesterday afternoon, sorry. So the numbers in the list below are the overnight numbers (since 3pm yesterday afternoon) and do not include snow that fell during the daytime. My numbers are, as always, since last report.
It has been a very good 3-4 days.
The snow should be easing off today and then we are due a few days of potentially clearer skies at times too. Let us hope it keeps cold.
The ski area is making a point of saying that entry into restricted areas is strictly prohibited. I don't know if there has been any specific incidents to prompt that. Right now, there is plenty of fine snow within the ski area boundaries, more than enough for everyone I'm sure.
Fresh snowfall since yesterday afternoon reported by the ski area:
- Yamabiko: 20cm
- Uenotaira: 20cm
- Hikage: 10cm
- Nagasaka: 10cm
- Karasawa: 10cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko: 190cm
- Uenotaira: 180cm
- Hikage: 135cm
- Nagasaka: 130cm
- Karasawa: 90cm
All lifts now normally operating except these lifts:
- Challenge pair [usually closed on weekdays]
- Utopia pair [usually closed on weekdays]
- Hikage quad (due to maintenance)
All courses are now open except the following:
- Mukobayashi
- Hachiman
- Kandahar (restrictions)
Planned night skiing (Nagasaka quad):
- 8th January 2023
- Every Saturday until 25th March 2023
