I'm enjoying this. Shovelling required again this morning with another 30+cm of snow, most of that coming in overnight.
Nozawa itself has reported over 50cm on the top Yamabiko area since yesterday too.
Visibility is limited, but snow conditions should be excellent. I will surely be reporting some more snow numbers tomorrow too, though it might start easing off.
The New Year holidays are probably over for most people now, but there sure seems like a lot of people lining up for the gondola this morning!
Fresh snowfall since yesterday morning reported by the ski area (reported at 3pm yesterday in brackets):
- Yamabiko: 51cm
- Uenotaira: 45cm
- Hikage: 35cm
- Nagasaka: 35cm
- Karasawa: 25cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko: 180cm
- Uenotaira: 180cm
- Hikage: 130cm
- Nagasaka: 125cm
- Karasawa: 80cm
All lifts now normally operating except these lifts:
- Challenge pair [usually closed on weekdays]
- Utopia pair [usually closed on weekdays]
- Hikage quad (due to maintenance)
All courses are now open except the following:
- Mukobayashi
- Hachiman
- Kandahar (restrictions)
Planned night skiing (Nagasaka quad):
- 8th January 2023
- Every Saturday until 25th March 2023
