Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 341cm

Posted on Saturday 3rd February 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

We have had a kind of sort of dusting+ of snow around base areas since yesterday, nothing significant, and the ski area this morning is reporting 5-7cm of snow on the upper Uenotaira and Yamabiko areas. So a bit of fresh.

Visibility remains limited on those top areas this morning.

Various forecasts disagree on what to expect from now and over the weekend. Some say cloud. Some give us the chance of some clearer skies. Whatever, it should be keeping fairly cold (if not extremely cold), which is good. And then there's more snow due in the first part of next week. It sounds like a plan!

Night skiing tonight on Nagasaka.

Have a great weekend wherever you are.
