Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

There has been more snow since my last report in what is turning out to be a good end to February.


The ski area reports 20-30cm on the upper areas since yesterday afternoon, as you can see in the numbers below.


Weekend visitors might be in for a further treat with what looks like the possibility of some 'heavy snow' Friday night into Saturday.


Naski looks pleased.


Oh yes more good news. The fresh snowfall is allowing the lower section of Skyline to get back open.


Fresh snowfall since yesterday afternoon (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 20cm

Uenotaira: 30cm

Hikage: 15cm

Nagasaka: 15cm

Karasawa: 10cm


Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 210cm

Uenotaira: 180cm

Hikage: 80cm

Nagasaka: 75cm

Karasawa: 50cm
