Well, we got another 20+cm of snow since yesterday on the mountain, according to the ski area, and around 10-15cm around base areas.
This morning starts with a mix of cloud and blue sky but forecasts all point to clear and sunny weather for the day today, so we should probably expect the cloud to go away.
It is a chilly start but the day will be fairly mild... and warmer still tomorrow and Wednesday. We shouldn't be surprised if it gets to +10C in the village. Yes, friends, we are soon going to have to start talking about spring. But March is always interesting and can bring various surprises. Hopefully snowy ones. And the ski area is open until early May, so there's a long way to go!
Fresh snowfall reported by the ski area at 8am (since yesterday morning):
- Yamabiko: 19cm
- Uenotaira: 25cm
- Hikage: 10cm (possibly not updated this morning by ski area at time of my report)
- Nagasaka: 15cm
- Karasawa: 10cm (possibly not updated this morning by ski area at time of my report)
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
- Yamabiko: 315cm
- Uenotaira: 265cm
- Hikage: 195cm
- Nagasaka: 190cm
- Karasawa: 125cm
All lifts now normally operating except these lifts:
- Mizunashi triple
- Yunomine pair
- Karasawa pair
- Challenge pair (usually closed on weekdays)
- Utopia pair (usually closed on weekdays)
All courses are now open except the following:
- Yunomine A
- Kandahar (restrictions)
Planned night skiing (Nagasaka quad):
- Every Saturday until 25th March 2023
