Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 15cm
Snowfall at base this season 829cm

Posted on Friday 3rd March 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

A nice surprise this morning, with over 10cm of fresh snow on the ground, and the ski area is reporting 20cm on upper areas (in addition to the 3cm reported yesterday afternoon).

We start the morning with a lot of blue sky, some cloud and some sun. It feels like it is going to be a fine day.

Lots of sun on the forecasts for the upcoming week. Hopefully it will keep fairly cold today and tomorrow, with temps gradually rising next week.
