Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 36cm
Snowfall at base this season 316cm

Posted on Sunday 15th January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Morning from Nozawa and lots more snow to add this morning.

The official numbers seem a bit wonky when you include what they reported yesterday afternoon but there they are below. Yamabiko now all of a sudden with a snow depth of 3m. Very nice.

Snow continues to fall this morning and there's a good chance it is going to continue through the day and tomorrow and into Tuesday too. We're really getting a sustained delivery this time.

January 15th is always a big date on the calendar for Nozawa Onsen with the Dosojin Fire Festival. Highly recommended!

Not much more to say this morning other than... excellent!
