Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 698cm

Posted on Sunday 9th February 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

It's foggy today in Myoko; nothing unusual in that, really.

We're near the ocean, we get a lot of fog.

Very fine snow is also falling, adding to the 20cm plus we had yesterday.

It's kind of funny when Tokyo gets more snow than Myoko, but this has been an interesting year.

No official reports are in this morning, was everybody out partying to celebrate the return of good snow?. As usual, the depths below are from yesterday; add a few centimeters because the snow did fall during the day.
