Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 721cm

Posted on Thursday 8th January 2015 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.

The winds are down today, thankfully.

It's pretty calm this morning with only light snow falling—maybe 10cm accumulation since yesterday.

Be a little extra careful if you venture into the backcountry, as there is some wind-loading of slopes with a higher avalanche risk.

Snowfall is likely to continue on and off over the next few days
