New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 1441cm

There wasn’t much fresh snow early this morning, but it has really picked up since about 6:30. Let’s say 10cm and counting...
Not much to say except heavy snow as usual; can’t see anything outside my windows, and I’ll need to dig those out pretty soon as well. Sounds like that’s been a problem for ski areas all over Niigata. I think that’s why we saw, for example, Lotte Arai only running the bottom lifts just before this three-day weekend; they were probably digging out the important upper lifts for the crowds that are definitely here.
Long lift lines yesterday in many of the resorts, and packed parking lots. Going to head up the hill in a minute, unfortunately not to go skiing but to help others get dug out (and protect windows and roofs).
