Yoko Ono

For me, she was more of a wife of John Lennon than an artist.

I went to her exhibition first time at Modern Art museum. What a strong and passionate woman she is! Her works in 1960s are very simple and trying to tell people how to feel peace. I was very impressed by her events "Cut Peace". I can't believe what she did on the stage. You can see what John and Yoko tried to tell from the "Bed-in for Peace" video.

Now Yoko Ono is more of an artist than a wife of John Lennon for me.

Shes under-rated as an artist, and under-rated in terms of her influence on the ideas that the world revers John Lennon for. She also never bitches about it.

Not sure about that last comment there. Aren't there lots of public squabbles between her and McC and Ringo??

Yeah possibly, I just meant i have never heard anything personally of that kind of thing.

 

I remember seeing Yoko Onos 'white chessboard' (all pieces and squares are white) at an exhibition back when I was about 16 and thinking how kick ass it was.
