2pints-mate 0
Hi! Just wondering. If you go overseas and have sushi/sashimi, how is it? Up to the standards or definitely below par?
indosnm 0
My first experience was at sea in Indo working on a surf charter boat. Between surf breaks we would drag a line to score our dinner! Some Hawiian guys suggested that we eat it raw and ten minutes later we were scoffing it down. Since that i have been addicted! Wherever i go surfing (OS) I always take my kikoman soy & wasabi with me. Sashimi is only good if the fish is freash so if you find a country where you can get good fresh fish you're set! So in my experience the sahimi is well up to standards OS.
Ocean11 0
I had some once in the 'Samurai' restaurant in Bristol. It was varieties of fish from northern waters that are best served fried with chips, and it was cut so thin it tore at one poke with a chopstick. If I wasn't laughing so hard, I'da been pretty pissed off at the price. But some of the fish that are popular with West Indians (red snapper) looks a bit similar to what Japanese eat raw, so if you got it fresh, you could prolly play sashimi. slow 0
Believe it or not, Sushiden in Denver is great! I think fish comes from Seatle or somewhere.
