Tight security on Shinkansen??

Recommended Posts

I was on the Joetsu Shink today - a few thing I noticed:

Tons of police at the station - many more than usual.

All the gomibakos in the train were completely sealed off - you couldnt put anything in them. Said for "security".

All seemed a bit excessive.

That's thanks to the War on Terror bringing exciting new opportunities for terror prevention. Don't forget, the world is a safer and freer place now that Iraq has been liberated. icon14.gif

No, no, no Ocean. Its the people of Iraq who are in a better position now than under Saddam's leadership... They have more freedom, better protection, better education, a safer environment, and finally a chance to rule their OWN country... confused.gif

They have bins in train stations here? First I've seen of them. The only bins I have seen in Japan are in my kitchen and outside Lawsons.

They should just get rid of the bins in the stations altogether, thats what London did in response to the IRA stuff decades ago.
