damian 0
At work do you have an email signature file? If so it probably contains your phone number, fax number, perhaps location, department, functional title. Does it contain your email address as well? I see so many that do and cant work out why they would put it there. Trivial mush from db.
klingon 10
I'm often glad of them so I can pick up the phone without needing to root out their number.

Goemon 0
um...maybe in case the mail gets forwarded to someone else and they want to contact the person listed a few mails down? (I don't like/use those sigs either though.)
nzlegend 1
My friend works at CSFB and all his emails have the long disclaimer attached. Quote: This message is for the named person's use only. zebedee 1
That looks pretty standard for that kind of operation.
Ocean11 0
"If you receive this message in error, please immediately delete it and all copies of it from your system, destroy any hard copies of it and notify the sender. So what if this blurb is appended to an email that shows some clear criminal intent? Would having that attached to it invalidate it as evidence (I doubt it)? Does all this 'must not' have any legal force whatsoever (I doubt it)? It has recently come to my notice that there are some extremely high ranking, high powered lawyers gracing this forum. I wonder if they would care to venture an opinion. Otherwise Kintaro's opinion will do nicely (at least he has the balls to venture one)
Error404 0
I've often wondered the same. Me being a secret and extremely high ranking, high powered lawyer myself, heres some (not exactly "latest") info on the subject: http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6263-1039350.html
Curt 1
Where I used to work they had a ridiculously long thing going on. I swiped mine off and got shouted at for it. Only the official signature was acceptable. Pah!
