sakebomb 0
I have to agree with snowglider. I am in the same position- loving wife & a one year old daughter. Money couldn't replace or buy the joy I have with them. I have learnt more in the last year than I can describe!

Well, that's relatively speaking. Still have to pay the bills and rent, but at least I work for myself, in my soho studio, with no commute, for a few long-term clients. Kinda sounds like yourself, but in a different field. How did I get here? Started out in finance, decided I hated it after 2 years, put in my time at a Japanese company learning new skills in a different field, and ultimately decided I could do better working for myself after a few years.
