Phantom Raspberry Blower 0
Hey I've been searching around and not been able to find a simple answer to this question. If I wanted JUST to watch movies on a pc (and not particularly need recording capability), is an 8X speed DVD-ROM drive good enough? Would a 12X or faster be better, or is that speed just unnecessary? Cheers!
Dims 0
8X should be fine. Any speed DVD-ROM should be pretty cheap by now I would have thought. A DVD-burner is a very handy thing to have though PRB. Especially for quick and easy data backups.
Phantom Raspberry Blower 0
OK thanks, so you're saying that for purely watching movies/dvds there would be no gain whatsoever having a 12x over an 8x. Right?
klingon 10
That's right.
sanjo 2
I was led to believe that, any other spec above that will help you with making your own dvds if you have recordable one but not the playback of movies.
