jonas 0
Hi All! Am pretty new to skiing in Japan, have covered only Naeba and Yuzawa so far. This year I am looking for some serious off pist skiing, and would greatly appreciate any local recommendations. Reside in Tokyo, would like to get there within three hours of train. The less people, the deeper powder and the steeper hill the better! /J
marnix 0
Have a look at the new SJ site where the most snow has dropped over night and go there. Maybe you run into some steeps.
Trying to look busy 0
You mean the new "home page"? The links to the full snow depth lists are at the top of the forum pages up there

jonas 0
Thanks guys, but I was more looking for "semi-secret runs", as in given directions to adrenalin-driving off-pist runs in the resorts not too far away from Tokyo. I do appreciate that truly excellent back country runs are to be kept secret, but perhaps there are not-so-secret-anymore runs to be reveiled to an alien in japan...? For example, when I went to Naeba, I spent my entire weekend going up that long gondola in the middle, sneeking out to the left, pumping down the forest, under the lift, out further to the left, down a steep valley with really deep snow, when getting to the creek keeping to the right since the creek is really dangerous (almost ate my friend), exiting tired but happy to the pist again close to the snowcross area. stuff like that if you have it please! Perhaps this is the wrong forum for that kind of chat? If so, please direct me to a more "non-public" forum elsewhere... /J
