When I'm a naughty boy and ride in very closely spaced trees and bushes, I've noticed that anything hanging off tends to get torn off by branches and the like. The little elastic drawstrings on mitts and things come in for a lot of 'stick'.

I imagine a leash would get thoroughly snarled up in some of the undergrowth I'm wont to go in, and quite possibly lead to some nasty whiplash.

No, I don't think I'll be getting a leash anytime soon.

When I first started riding 10 years ago (when bindings had yet to be perfected)I wore a leash and then my board actually tore away from my boots in a hard toe side on a mugul and shot off down the hill. My saftey strap had snapped due to the force. I got new bindings and have never used a leash again. Whenever the lifty asks I just say yup and pull up my pant leg and they always seem satisfied even though they don't really see one. This trick has worked about 50 times without incident.
