I've heard that resorts are really inflexible in their pricing policy - is that right?

It seems strange that they don't offer discounts in early/late season, or when all the lifts aren't running, or all the courses aren't open.

I was just wondering what you veterans knew/thought on this?

Cheers

Dane

PS Any other inflexible stories most welcome, always good for a laugh!

There are quite a few places that are 1,000 yen cheaper before all the lifts get going. If the snow's good, it's a great deal, as there are so few people around.

I'm amused at the inflexibility of Wada Toge in their use of the groomer. They haven't seemed to notice that the snowboarders who go there don't ever ride on the groomed bits. I called them a couple of times to ask about snowfall and grooming, and they say with great pride "We've groomed everywhere!" They'd groom between the trees if only they could get the blessed machine in there.

Hey, can you disable groomers with a spud up the exhaust like you can cars? Now there's an idea... But they'd probably stop the lift if they couldn't make the groomer run.
