Oh-Hairy-One 0
What do you reckon? I'm a lower-int boarder (I reckon), never been there but my Japanese friends will be taking me in 3 weeks time.
rach 1
If you're a skier, probably the 2 extreme points of the plces (Okushiga and Yakebitaiyama & Yokoteyama/Kumanoyu). If you're a boarder, the Yakebitaiyama-middle part will be where you're at. Probably. I prefer Hakuba or Nozawa.
powwwers 0
tha best part about shiga kogen is tha `UNDERGROUND DESIGN GARAGE` team that make it their home. coooool people, awesome riders and a great new range of clothes- go check `em!!!

brit-gob 9
The bottom/middle part is the best (especially if you're a skier). Nice area, shame they don't all open up to boarders.
Ocean11 0
What's the deal with Shiga Kogen? Is it possible to board in several different resorts without lots of walking or driving about? I went to Ryuo once which is Kita Shiga, but I didn't notice any particular link up with anywhere else. Can somebody who knows enlighten me? brit-gob?
fukdane 2
I think it's the extreme points that are non boarding (ie Okushiga and Yokoteyama)
nagoid 4
Ryou and Kita Shiga is not connected to Shiga Kogen, and not counted as Shiga Kogen. They are on the other side of the hill from Okushiga and Yakebitaiyama which is the most northern part of what is known as Shiga Kogen
Ocean11 0
Aha, thanks, I got an answer to one part. What about Shiga Kogen then? What can you do there?
Will Lee 0
You can SKI there. It`s skiers heaven out there. I`d stick with Ryuo or Takaifuji if you`re really into freestyle(3 half pipes baby!).
mani 0
What can you do there? You can ski and snowboard there. And take a bath, and eat dinner, there's some hotels and toilets too!
Ocean11 0
Actually I meant, like what's the 'linked up' thing about? What advantages does that bring you?
big-will 7
Great big huge area. The top part is not quite as well linked up as the rest, but for the most part it's just choice.
Ocean11 0
I'm sorry to be so persistent about this, but what's the advantage to all this choice? Can you start somewhere, cruise through several resorts and then get back to where you started? All without walking? Can anybody recommend a good map of this linkedness?
