I quite walking round like town markets when I'm back in the UK.

Can often find some interesting things, amongst all the rubbish.

And of course the cheese and pie stalls are always a highlight.

Haha.

Yes I like those cheese stands too.

There was a good one in Liverpool last summer, they had a special sausage/hot dog kind of stand going on.

Bloody ace that was, best I've ever had.

No doubt it will vary but lots of 'market towns' will have one or two days a week when the market comes out.

Not second hand, but just local small businesses.

Ahhh Righto..

Yes we have 3 day a week (fri/sat/sun) markets in Fremantle.

It'll be my new fave destination in acquiring organic products.

Stuff like raw honey is really hard to get at the supermarket - they get it straight from the apiarists. Nice!

Aye, I like a good market and its great to see them being reestablished. The ones on the continent, France etc., are wicked. They are much more part of peoples' lives.

Japanese people shop little and often, which is what markets not supermarkets are for, but markets are rare and most little shops like greengrocers and butchers don't seem to be doing very well either.
