In Rusutsu I ate the Pork curry everyday. 2 questions. 1: Does anyone know where you can buy the Curry Roux in Perth? (Australia) 2: What pork cut is the best? seemore

surfarthur 22
Not too sure if they have the curry, but there is a small Japanese grocer in Subiaco. http://www.accesswa.com.au/Pages/Feature.aspx?FeatureID=1081
RobBright 35
Best pork cut is I guess a piece of pork filler or loin.
Tubby Beaver 209
if you have any Chinese or Asian supermarkets, get down there...good chance they'll have them.
klingon 10
I don't leave Japan for long times but it's always the other way round - really looking forward to an Indian restaurant. I like Japanese curry, just not in a huge rush to get back to it.

Tubby is right, I was in a generic Asian grocery store today, so I had a look, found 3 different varieties, which triggered my memory. I have seen these at pretty much every Asian grocer I have been to in Perth. You should have no problems finding some. There are also a few Japanese restaurants in the city, catering mainly to the lunch crowd, that have cheap (for Perth) katsu curry, among other dishes. There is one down Shafto lane, can't remember where the other ones I have been to are though.
