pie-eater 207
Do the New Zealand chaps still do that silly pantomime dance while the other team has to 'respect' and quietly stand by and watch them before a game?

Tubby Beaver 209
from a non-rugby guy point of view, I much prefer watching tries than kicks. That article you posted Rob keeps mentioning that this "try-scoring" style is the modern game.....is that true? I always thought that rugby was about scoring tries. What's the old fashioned game then?
RobBright 35
na, shall let your more attractive version speak for itself and how successful it has been over the last few world cups.

HelperElfMissy 42
not fond of a kicking game myself. Love the trys! Especially the hard fought ones where the front row push them over the line
Tubby Beaver 209
I used to always think the few rugby games that i watched when I was a kid was always about scoring tries, i thought the kicking boredom only came in recently!
brit-gob 9
So is the Rugby World Cup "union" or "league"?
HelperElfMissy 42
Union but you knew that already, yeah...

pie-eater 207
Here's one. What's the difference between League and Union? And... why? I should perhaps know this coming from Wigan, but I do not.
Mantas 3
League is basically union with all the slow boring plays removed.
RobBright 35
League is also shit.

Mantas 3
League is the greatest game on earth played by the stupidest people on earth IMO. Union is a great game also. It's just a bit slow for my liking. Too much time is spent watching some pecker head scratch his nuts and fluff around while lining up a kick at goal or waiting for some 140 kg blob of man to make his way over to one of the many scrums or line outs. HelperElfMissy 42
Ouch Mantas! I see you are a big League fan. One of the big differences I see on the field with kids who cross over between the sports is that the Leaguies tend to hit with the shoulder and no arms, whereas in Union all tackles need arms involved - shoulder charges are a no-no. grungy-gonads 54
You not into the League at all pie-eater. Wigan are up there at the top aren't they, or nearby Saints? Damn, I am in a rugby thread!
