Can you please recommend me a decent sized skiing resort that can be reached by JR/Shinkansen from Tokyo? My skiing level is intermediate, my Japanese level is zero I took a leaflet from JR but it's mostly in Japanese. The only site they have an English leaflet about is Gala, which seems a little small. nippontiger 8 Posted January 14, 2011 Share Posted January 14, 2011 I also like Kagura - almost always get some decent powder up there, but it does take a long time to get from the base to the top of the Kagura area - especially if you have beginner/intermediate snowboarders in tow - these guys will also hate the gondola run back down which has extremely long, flat sections which many boarders end up walking.
