snowdude 44 Posted March 10, 2010 Author Share Posted March 10, 2010 Well here is not a heavy snow area, at most maybe get 30cm or so in one night, but then doesn't snow again for a week or more, so no danger of the fences collapsing. The fences around my house are steel framed so pretty strong actually. Having said that we had enough snow to collapse some of the trees last night, I had to drive around the fallen trees when I took my daughter to school! Link to post Share on other sites

snowdude 44 Posted March 10, 2010 Author Share Posted March 10, 2010 The fields where I live dont have any fences either, same as Hokkaido, but some of the houses do have fences, but usually made of steel frame or otherwise brick walls. I'm guessing the issue is more the proximity of lot lines to the house. A big chunk of snow sliding off the roof might be able to take out the kind of fence seen in snowdude's photos. stemik: how big is your property?? A couple hundred tsubo, at least?
