OUfreeski2 0
Seen that ad `round about the bus tours there to see the great walls of snow. That`d be a sick gap jump over the bus and road. That`s some SERIOUS height, not as big as Chad`s Gap I suppose but sum adrenaline!! How big are those snow walls?Anyone know? Ocean11 0
Around 4 m at the moment. Place is crawling with teleskiers now, if the local news is to be believed...
Fattwins 0
I reckon you woould need a snowmobile tow in and also need to find a good spot. I reckon that area after seeing it form the air is pretty flat.
OUfreeski2 0
Yeah, might need a tow-in. Wouldn`t take long to make the booter. But you`d need the snowmobile to take you up to the run-in again. Be a good jump to get on film though eh!
Fattwins 0
That is a if you f-it you die jump. If someone could put it to film then yeah it would be sick.
jared 0
I was having the same thoughts about the hachimantai road - too late this year but next year the weekend after golden week its a possibility. It shouldent be hard as roads are not that wide but like fattwins said f it ad die. I would want to clear it 2 or 3 times over to make sure I was going big enough. Didnt a pro die doing a road gap a year or 2 ago?
OUfreeski2 0
Dunno about the pro dying. But the gap at Tateyama appears as though it`s not that wide but DEEP.
Fattwins 0
Yes a real good skier semi pro or pro died tring a gap at whistler. The guy was a great skier from what was said and the pros that live at whistler all knew him. There is a segment in a ski vid where guys are downing to-kill-ya shots and paying respects. Any gap thats deep means death if you come up short. First youll slam the wall then fall back to the ground. Tateyama is at least 3 bus widths wide. thats pretty wide.
