HarpsicordHelen 0
Hi We are thinking of checking out the snow monkeys near Shiga Kogen. How long do you think we should put aside for that particular trip? Is a couple of hours enough? Thanks
iiyamadude 6
Hi Helen I have been quite a few times, not too far from where I live. I like to stay with the monkeys for at least an hour - on a fine day I'm sure I could spend 3 or 4 hours there they are just so cool. But I'd say you would want an hour if you love cute monkeys. It takes about 30 minutes or so to walk to the park from one side and a bit less from the other when thats open. So about an hour for walking there and back. Of course if you are going from Shiga Kogen, allow maybe about 15-30 minutes (depending on snow/weather conditions) from the central area of there (Maruike). They're great - have fun! skidaisuki 0
My question is, why go and see monkeys when you could be skiing ?
@tokyo 14
The monkeys are well worth a visit - especially when you might not want to be on the slopes (bad conditions?) or how about on the way there or back from Shiga Kogen or on the way to Nozawa. Definitely worth a couple hours of time I reckon.
