HelperElfMissy 42
News story here at the moment is the tragic deaths of twin 18 month olds who died of sheer neglect. Not only did they die due to not being fed, the mother thinks she found them dead about a week before it was reported....and she left them there for that week! Dad was out of the house most of the day, but came home every night and walked past the room... Older siblings found them due to the odour. What kind of people do this? How does this happen? JA2340 16
It seems a wonder that the elder siblings managed to survive what seems to be a case of criminal neglect. Trouble with relying on newspaper reports is that they are terribly attracted to anything they can sensationalise by omission of salient facts (or making up stuff to suit the slant). journey_man 0
It's worse, she didn't even know! Compulsory training/exam before being allowed to procreate? Her ma n pa can't have done such a good job... Or his for that matter. I wonder what the rest of the story is.
JA2340 16
Just heard this morning, they have "refused" psychological examination. Didn't know that the option existed. I guess they will have to go to court, at which time the court may have to order a psych exam. They couldn't refuse that, could they? The story just keeps getting weirder. That, however, is the nature of the news beast. Keep something back so the story is available for later. Keep feeding the "masses" a bit at a time.
Ezorisu 0
There was just a case in the States where a couple used those plastic cable ties (zip-ties) to tie their teen son to a tree outside their home as a form of punishment. Two days later he was dead from exposure and probably previous conditions stemming from abuse/neglect. They really need to make it harder to get married and have kids than it is to get a license to operate a motor vehicle.

big-will 7
They really need to make it harder to get married and have kids than it is to get a license to operate a motor vehicle. And limit the number of kids allowed. Perhaps not China style, but seeing these tv specials celebrating families where the parents don't work, are thick as can be but have 9 children is just distasteful.
thursday 1
any more news on these people? The last I heard was that their remaining 4 kids stay with them.
