Chan Allan 0
Where do you think the best resort close to Osaka is? Don`t really want to have to travel all the way to Nagano every time.

Dean 0
If you have a car, defo Hachi Kita from Osaka. Went to Takasu myself about a month ago and was worth the trip. But dont know if I would want to be making the hike all the way up there on a regular basis.
gerard 6
Yeah, Takasu's doable too but it's not really much better though. HK's pretty good. Ah- snow would definitely be better at Takasu though.
2pints-mate 0
How does the snow generally compare to Hakuba or SK say?
tripitaka 0
It's a lot more fickle at HK but it gets plenty of snow at times.
muikabochi 208
How far away from where you are is that tripitaka? I really don't know that area at all.
gerard 6
It's up near the sea of Japan so it really dumps but it starts later, and melts quicker. Max elevation is a little over 1200 meters. The base depth maxes out at around 2 meters at the end of Feb. One nice think about HK is that it's kind of steep and there are some off-piste options too and there are two attached resorts, making it a big place. (I guess that's three nice tings)
