Kraut_in_HongKong 0
Are there English books or text in Hiragana/Katakana? Next time I go to Japan I like to read Hiragana/Katakana, I guess many words are just transliterations. I learned some Cyrillic before I went to Russia, that also helps a lot reading a menu and many words.
Markie 0
I have seen many English novels translated into Japanese and these are easily available at bookshops. But I don't recall seeing any that were only written in Hiragana though. You need to have a pretty good grasp of Kanji to read them. If you had JLPT Level 2 standard, that would not be a problem. Yuki's Passion 1
there are "dumbed down" versions of stories too. When I first came here I read Alice in Crackland and it was 90% in Hiragana. Not a problem, just go over to the kids section! Got tons of stuff in Hiragana only
Kraut_in_HongKong 0
no no, I mean something in English, just using Japanese script. Hiragana and Katakana are phonetic, so should be possible.
bobby12 0
You mean in 'Romaji' right? You can get manga books in english, they sometimes have bits of original japanese in them. But I cant imagine anyone publishing books in romaji, it doesnt make sense really. If you had the vocab to understand the words then you would surely be able to read the kanji or at least kana of the words. You are too niche for the publishers
