klingon 10
I was driving on a very open straight wide road today where the limit was 30kmh and was wondering - who decided that? 30kmh limit on that road just does not make sense. At all. The car was having trouble staying that slow. So who does decide that and when did they decide it? I bet they haven't been changed since the beginning of (speed limit) time. But surely cars have gotten much better at both going and stopping since then?
bobby12 0
Sometimes its not obvious what the reason is, then one day you come to that road from another angle and see the reason. For example, you may want to join that road from a side road on the other side of a dip in the road. Without a speed limit, when you pull out into the road someone could scream over the dip in the road and crash into you.
Go Native 70
The speed limits in this country are best described as ludicrous! The only thing to do is just ignore them and learn where the speed cameras are.
muikabochi 208
I know what you mean klingon. There's a few places like that around here. Seriously straight and flat roads with no junctions and a limit of 30km.
