base40 0
I just watched a documentary on the Trident submarines last night. Amazing things they are. The thought of being in one underwater for more than a few minutes makes me shudder, but 3 months without surfacing... I don't know how those guys do it. Anyone here ever been on one? spook 0
nope. too damn claustrophobic. all the money in the world wouldn't get me into one of those things
x67 0
I went on one once - though not underwater. Very impressive it was, but I don't think I could be cooked up in one of those things either. I wonder if people ever panic, what training they have before going in there and spending long periods of time?
SirJibAlot 0
I've been on a Los Angeles class submarine (only for an hour as a journalist), I couldn't live in one of those things...
big-will 7
I'd love to check one out. Do those dudes get paid considerably more than the guys up on the surface for being down there for 3 months at a time?
Curt 1
I know somneone one one of those and I do know I couldn't do it. He spends months at a time down there. It sounds like the worst possible thing being in one of those things deep underwater. They are incredibly impressive things though.
Ezorisu 0
Spent a day on a SSBN visiting Pearl Harbor from Bremerton. Food was good in the Officers' mess. I'm doubtful that I could stay on one for a full tour though.
